Tax Process
General
SafeSend
Since COVID, we try to be as contactless as possible. You will upload your taxes through SafeSend or drop off/mail in your taxes and we'll process them in the order in which we receive them. If we have any questions we'll contact you, otherwise the next call you'll get is that your taxes are ready to be picked up!
SafeSend Clients:
Absolutely! SafeSend allows you to save and close your organizer, so you can upload your documents as you receive them and you do NOT have to wait until you have all your documents to begin working on the organizer
In Person Drop Offs:
No and yes 🤔
Initially no, please wait until you receive all your documents. Submitting incomplete files makes more work for our staff to figure it out and then contact you tracking down the missing information. If you know you are missing documents, please reach out to the entity in which you are expecting the document from, they may be able to resend it or electronically give you access to download it.
That being said, we understand you can't control how fast entities issue you the required documents. The tax deadline is April 15th - as a business we can't have 100 people wait until April 10th to drop off their items once all documents are received - there just wouldn't be enough time in the days left to physically complete them all on time!
If you're still waiting on documents, please submit what you have by March 15th with a note that there are missing documents. This will allow us to prepare the rest of your taxes in draft and it will be ready to go when you get the missing documentation.
You will receive a call from our office when you're taxes are ready for pick up. When you come in, someone will review whether you owe or are getting a refund for federal and/or state. You'll be required to sign giving us permission to file your federal and state(s), and if you're getting a refund and want it direct deposited, you'll also sign confirming we have the correct banking and routing information. Lastly you'll be required to pay for the tax preparation services before your taxes will be transmitted.
